    New semester
So, it's January and the new semester is going to begin on Monday. This weekend is orientation and now I'm an official Resident Assistant. w00t!

I'm now living in a different dorm and it's not as bad as I thought it was going to be..well, at least so far. I have 3 newbies on my floor and the rest will be returners. I now have authorita!

Tonight is my first night on RA duty, and I'll be in the office from 9pm-2am since it's the weekend. Sunday through Thursday the times are 8pm-12am. Wish me luck! To everyone who still looks at this thing...I miss you! Hope everything is going well for you too!

    Hmmm....
So, finals are going good so far. I know...the year went by so quick! One minute I'm moving into my dorm and next thing you know I'm leaving. But the good thing is that I'm going home. Miss my family and my friends.

Well, I'll be an R.A. next semester so that means I'll have my own room, even though that room will be in another dorm building. Oh well, not everything is perfect, lol. As far as the finals, today I finished my statistics exam in less than 30 minutes (w00t...only three questions, lol) and my nutrition lab final was a cleaning lab, and we were only in there an hour. The culinary lab final was early this morning and I spent two hours cleaning the deep-fryer...EEEWWW! I didn't mind the "getting my hands dirty" part, but it was the "constantly covered in fryer oil" part that kinda grossed me out. I had to scrape out all the excess oil and burnt crumbs that had accumulated over the semester. I never want to experience that again, lol.

Tomorrow I have to get up at 6:30am again because my actual nutrition final is from 7:30am to 9:30am. Then my culinary lecture final is 10am to 12pm and then the menu planning final is 12:30pm to 2:30pm. Basically, same schedule as today and I have work both days from 3pm to 4pm. Then Thursday is my last day for exams. My orientation to hospitality final is 12:30pm to 2:30pm and from what I've been told we have to write an essay on what we learned from the four speakers that presented to us over the semester. We also have to be in business attire. WTF MATE?! Why be in business attire to write an essay? Oh well, we're almost done and that's what counts.

    Slow-poke
Lol, I know it's been ages since my last post. Here's the news:

Classes are going well. Received all A's for mid-term grades except for Culinary 100 and the lab that corresponds. I got a B and a B+ for those respectively. I've also created a Facebook so if anybody is interested just look for me and you'll find me!

Bill and I are still together (3 years November 2nd...wow!)

Nothing much else except that I now have "vent" for WoW (those of you who know what I'm talking about, you'll get it lol)

By the way, I did get the drawing Danielle. Take your time with the others. Don't have much time for writing so sketches can wait, lol. Maybe you could minimize Vanamiri's nose? Otherwise she looks good. :)

    Lots of news!
Had a party on August 5th that only 3 people showed up to out of the 30 people invited lol. Thankfully some of the food had been eaten though. Thank you to those that showed up! To those of you that were at work, call next time :0! And to those of you that were MIA....*taps foot in silence* So, I have one more lesson before my road test. When is it? I'm not quite sure. They're booking for August 31st and I won't be able to make that because I'll be at school. So, the guy said he'd check his cancellations and hopefully I'll get it done before I go to school. Otherwise, I'll have to wait for my first break in October to do it :(...but hey, I'm getting better at parallel parking, which isn't as hard as I thought it would be.

Next Tuesday I have to go to court for that purse I accidentally gave away to the wrong person....I believe I wrote about it in LJ. If not, I'll give the details when I talk about the outcome. Basically, I'M BEING SUED FOR $500 BY SOME BITCH!!!!! But I hold no anger, I swear *coughs at sarcastic remark* Also that day, I go to get my meningitis vaccine and my PPD for tuberculosis....how fun!

Found out I'll be rooming with 2 people while at school. One girl didn't give her phone number though, so if she doesn't contact us before school I guess we won't get to talk to her until the day we move in. Weird, don't ya think?

Other than that, I'm ready to go to school and can't wait to begin!

Cool Beans (as Blane would say...)
So I've been driving on Ridge Road alot more lately (though no expressway, and to be honest I'm glad). I drove to work from my driveway and back the other night to pickup Nick. When he heard I had driven there, he was like, "Oh, great, now we'll never get home!" I simply laughed, only because I've gotten to that stage where 35 mph or less feels like I'm at a crawl, lol. But hey, only 5 days left at K-Mart! Woot! Right now I'm waiting for WoW to install an update (should be over by 11 am with any luck).

    So cool!
So, between Bill and our friend Steve, I finally have World of Warcraft on my laptop. Went out and got my mouse and mousepad today, and right now I'm in the process of downloading the patch. Or, as Bill said, "Downloading the scourge invasion that is now ending". Oh well, better late than never. Wish me luck for when I drive on the expressway tomorrow!

    Drving...hell yea!
Well, yesterday went...ummm...ok. I drove on Ridge Road for my lesson (this is only my second - next week I get to go on the expressway). My instructor says I'm improving significantly. Plus, I'm getting more comfortable at driving around 30 mph. Then, my P2P Student Ambassador Reunion was supposed to be from 4-8 at my house, but I was told that morning that it had been cancelled because nobody had returned Danielle's emails/IM's (I feel so bad too, because she had spent so much time and energy planning the thing). Well, I'm right down the road when I get a phone call from my brother saying that, "My guests were here." Lol...the only people that showed up (out of the original 36) were Alicia and Sam C. Not too bad. They stayed until 8 pm and we had fun just hanging out and reminiscing about the trip. So, aside from that mix-up, the day went pretty well. Tomorrow, I'm off to a friend's wedding. That should be fun ;)

    Fun
So, I gotta say that my first lesson went pretty well. My instructor is Nick...oh, he's so cute lol. But I digress... He had me drive for like 20 minutes and then he said he'd evaluate me to see where I am as a student. Right now, I'm at a 3-4 hour status (pretty good for a first-time driver). Can't wait until next week. Got my next lesson, and the P2P reunion is that day. What's funny, is that I have to take Mithriel to the vet that same day, because they couldn't finish her exam yesterday. They gave me tranquilizers to give to her about an hour and a half before her appointment to calm her down. The poor thing. We were lucky to get her rabies and distemper vaccines into her system before she totally flipped out. The technicians and doctor were like, "Is she like this with strangers?" And I'm like, "No. Only Bill." She hates my ex...always has, not sure why.

    Yee-haw!
Hell yea! My first driving lesson is next Wednesday (6/21). I know that some of you are thinking, "Well, it's ABOUT DAMN TIME!" Lol But hey, better late tha never, right? Then, that following Thursday, after my next lesson is the 3rd annual P2P reunion. I'm actually really excited because I was unable to attend the one last year, so I haven't seen any of my "travel-mates" since the year after our trip (so that's like...almost 2 years ago? I'm not positive as far as time frames go anymore). But yea, that's about it in my world as of late ;)

    3:46 pm
    Ummm....oops?
So last night I was closing at work. I only had a 6 hr shift, so it's not like I'd been there all day. I was tearing signs for today's ad when this customer approaches me at the Service Desk to turn in a purse. Well, my first mistake was that I didn't lock up the purse until I could get a chance to search for I.D. Usually, if there is a license in the purse/wallet then we look up the address and if it's listed then we'll call the house. Now, not five minutes after the purse is dropped off, I get a chance to look at it. As I'm rifling through the wallet, looking behind credit cards and whatnot to find the license, this guy comes in and says, "Oh, thank god, you found my wife's purse! She left it in a cart and I wasn't sure that you'd have it." Okay, I've never done this before, but for some reason I handed it off to him. YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO CHECK FOR ID!!!! Then, two minutes later these two black women come in looking for the purse. So, she's sitting there cussing at me and screaming, "I can't believe she gave away my purse!" I tried to calm her down, and I even called the police and told her I would make a statement because I could identify him. Sirron, the security guard, took the tape out of the recorder and escorted her to electronics where they could review the tape. After she was out of sight, I broke down. Thankfully, Arwen was near enough to the desk to see the whole thing. She relieved me so I could sit in the back. I was back there for an hour before the police came. I gave my statement, and he took her name and number and whatnot. Now, here are the problems with this story:
    1. The bitch called me racist. "If it'd been anyone else, she would've asked for I.D."
    2. The cop sympathized with her and ignored me. I understand what I did was wrong, and to be completely honest I have no idea why I did it, but jeez I felt bad enough as it is.
    3. She had a clear purse, and her money wasn't hidden in the wallet....HELLO! DUH!
    4. She had over $240 in her purse, along with her S.S. card, driver's license, credit cards, etc. Who carries their S.S. card in their purse? You're not supposed to do that!
What the hell man? I just hope I never have to see them again. I mean, I don't blame her for being upset, but half of the situation was her fault. She left her purse, she carried her money out of the wallet in a clear purse, and she had her S.S. card with her. Yes, I made a mistake. I apologized over and over, and I even took the responsibility of calling the police for her. And yet, just because she's black, the bitch calls me racist. I didn't know who the purse belonged to!

Also, Grant showed up about 9 pm. He ended up picking me up from work and we "hung out" until after midnight. Now, the reason I put that in quotes, was because the whole night he was trying to kiss me. He kept saying stuff like, "Well, I made a mistake when I hurt you." Or, "I've beaten myself up about it ever since." And the classic, "You're the only girl I ever cared about, and they're right...you don't know what you have until you lose it." Yea, ok. Do you know how much I cried once I was home in bed? I didn't do anything with him, but the fact that he met up with me after all this time just to see if I'd do anything with him. Wtf mate?! I don't know...lately life bites. But the clincher? As I was getting out of the car, if he'd wanted to be friends or something, he would've said, "Gimme a call sometime and we'll chill." No. Instead, he said, "Call me if you need anything." I give up.

    News...
A few things have happened this past week. One, my brother has an interview with K-Mart on Monday afternoon...yeah! He'll finally have a job. Two, Carol's mom died on May 30th and the funeral was today. Three, Bill called last week and we got together on Tuesday. I told him that right now I only want to work on being friends. But, of course, after we had hung out for a while, he kisses me. I reiterated that I only wanted to be friends right now, but he had to pull out that sad face and say, "But I still care for you more than a friend." I just don't get it. This is the same guy that two months ago called me a "self-centered, conniving, selfish bitch". If he still cares for me, then why won't he work at friendship first, considering that that is what I want to do so that I'm comfortable? After all, (and I quote) he "only wants to make me happy."

    Excited!
This time tomorrow I'll be getting ready to head to Toronto with Kevin and Sarah. It's going to be a "trio" reunion. Why is the word trio in quotation marks, you ask? Well, if memory serves we've been called that ever since freshman year, because we always sat together in Mr. Greene's science class. I'm pretty sure there's more to it, but that was the biggest reason that I could remember. I can't wait for this trip. I've got a lot to do today, including laundry and finding my passport (brings back memories, doesn't it Danielle?) At least Canadian customs aren't as bad as U.S. customs. I mean, the entrance to L.A. freaked me out. You have to be careful with everything you say and do. I mean, you have to be careful heading to Canada too, like don't smile or try to be friendly. Just answer the questions and they'll ket you through. Oh, don't forget to take off any sunglasses too. I can't believe they're going to be accepting passports as the only identification to get into their country after November. Of course, every other country does, so why shouldn't they? I'm just glad I have mine already and won't have to worry about it.
In other news, I'm now 19! Yea for me! For those of you who don't know, my birthday was on the 8th of May. I'm all like legal to drink in Canada now, LOL Also, Happy Birthday to Sarah because her birthday was on the 7th of May. Yea, our relationship is kinda weird. She's older than me barely 24 hours. We both had relatives on the Mayflower so you know they had to know each other. And to think we're friends this far down the family tree. I don't know, but we've always found that interesting.
So my last day at "The Big K" is going to be July 18th (YAHOO!) because I'm headin on vacation with my family on the 20th. Then come August 24th I'm leaving home until October because school starts the 28th. I'm going to miss my family, but I've survived three weeks without them, I'm pretty sure I can handle a month or two. I'm all excited to go too. I miss being in a classroom. But it's getting frustrating with everyone wanting to buy me stuff for school. Not that i don't appreciate it, I mean, God knows I can't afford it all on my own. However, my grandparents on my mom's side are buying me my chefs' coat for my one class, my grandparents on my dad's side are buying me my X-tra long sheets for the bed, my mom wants to buy me my school supplies, and my grandparents on my mom's side also bought me my laptop. And they want to get me more! I'm like, please just donate to the Christina Fund and I'll buy everything else. Hell, I have to spend $800 just on books so...donate to Bronco Bux! LOL
Speaking of donations, I ended up raising $167 for the March of Dimes walk this past Sunday (May 7th). Thank you to all my contributors.

P.S. - Wish me luck and fun on the trip!

    Scarred for life...
Yea so we (Dad, Nick, and I) come home from dropping Ian off (one of Nick's friends) and I hear this siren-like sound. I think it's the car pulling out at the end of our street and say, "Jeez, I think they need new breaks." Then Nick says, "No, sounds more like a cat." My Dad then says, "It is." Suddenly I stop at the top of our steps and do that 'slow turn' thing, and I'm like, "What?!" My Dad looks at me and says, "It's a cat getting laid." Holy shit I've never heard anything so weird in my entire life. I totally think I'm scarred for life. Never again do I want to hear that! It sounded like it was dying for cripes' sake!

On top of that I think I'm going to ask to be moved to another department. Maybe a department manager or something. I just can't work at the Service Desk any more. It's getting too stressful. I didn't have this much stress as a cashier, or even when I worked in the Garden Shop last summer. Maybe I should work there. It's an easy department and it's busy. So I'd be less stressed and I wouldn't have to worry about customers complaining too much. My last day will be July 18th, but it can't come any sooner...I'll be so glad and sooooo ready to leave when that day comes. Everyone is making comments like, "What are we going to do without you?" or "Don't talk to her, she's leaving us." I'm telling you, the day I leave is the day that that store goes down the drain. I'm not trying to seem cocky or self-important or anything like that. All I'm saying is that...well, here's an example. Everytime that there is a customer at the photo lab, I hear, "Christina, there's a customer at the photo lab!" I mean, I don't know how many times I've told them how simple the photo lab is. I've been helping customers there since I was a cashier. All you have to do is ask if they're picking up or dropping off pictures. If they're picking up, just look through the drawer labeled "pick-ups only" and ring them up for their pictures. If they're dropping off, the form is self-explanatory. But for some reason I'm the only person that knows how to do that! Or, I'm getting calls from the cashiers on how to do overrides, voids, or anything simple like calling a department for a price check. I mean, I wasn't allowed to run on my own until I was sure how to do this shit. I mean, I still had questions from time to time but I wasn't calling the supervisor every time with the same questions every shift. I mean, it's not like I yell at them or the customers, but some people just drive me crazy! So I figure that if I move to a separate department, I won't have to worry about this kinda stuff.

    Reliving the past
So, yea, I'm totally watching "Legends of the Hidden Temple" right now. And before that I was watching "Ren & Stimpy". I miss the old cartoons that we all grew up on. None of these cheap shows that we have on now. I miss "Rocko's Modern Life", and "Doug", and all those great shows. Even "Dexter's Laboratory" was alright. Anybody remember the teams from "Hidden Temple"? C'mon... count 'em off with me! ;) Red Jaguars, Purple Parrots, Silver Snakes, Blue Baracudas, Green Monkeys, and the Orange Iguanas. Don't forget those great prizes like $50 savings bonds, outdoor equipment, and everything was sponsored by Skechers! LOL Yea, those were the days. I always wanted to be on that show...of course there was also "Double Dare", "What Would You Do?", and....oh, what was that other one? I don't remember. It was a good show though. Anyone else remember these or any other shows?

    Well that failed...
So I tried installing WoW but that didn't work. Of course I figured it would. Dial up is too frickin' slow. So, I'm getting my mom to help me get my own internet plan. It'll be a while before I'm questing ( :( damn...) but I guess we all gotta make sacrifices, right? So yea, that's about it.

    Disappointed
Well, my laptop is more than well equiped to download WoW. However, I have to use dial up and I don't think that I'll be able to play it...my game would be complete "lagsville". So, I have a few options. I can A. Download it when I get to college where they have free wireless internet (though this option is not my favorite and is only an option if their wireless connection is like DSL or something). Or B. Download now and if it's too slow wait until college to play. And finally C. Get my own internet and possibly change email and whatnot. Well, what do you think?

Other than the depressing WoW news...one weekend left to go before the trip! Yea!

WOW! And I mean literally, WoW...
So excited! I know, I seem to be using that phrase alot lately. Oh well. Anyways..
I'm getting my laptop that my grandparents got for me for my birthday on Thursday, and I've already purchased World of Warcraft. So, by this weekend I may be playing it! I've waited so long and now I'll finally be able to play again. And it's great because I get to begin a new character...most likely Bill hasn't deleted my old one so I may not be known as Strongbow anymore. :( But hey, you work with what you have. But I get to begin in Darnassus again. And this time it won't be swamped with all these characters. The first time I played it was when the game first came out so everyone was playing almost at the same time...no room for anything. But anyway...wish me luck! I'm not 100% sure that my laptop will be able to download WoW...or even if my grandparents have set me up with the internet...

    Fuckin weird, man...
So at work today I seemed to have been blessed with literally, the dumbest people on the face of the planet. For example, this guy came in with a 3 pack of Hanes tank undershirts, right? So, he has his receipt and says he wants an XL. His package already says XL. I said, "Sir, you already have an XL but if you'd like to exchange it you can because you have your receipt." Then he says, "No, this is extra long, i want XG." Now, when you see sizes you see XL/XG because XG is either spanish or french for XL. So I told him this and he says, "No, I've purchased shirts before that just say Xg, no XL at all. That's what I want, do you carry it?" So I responded, "No, sir, because XG is not a size that exists." So on and on we go for about 20 min, and finally i simply shrug my shoulders, stick my head out and have this "What the fuck do u want me to do about it?" look on my face and the guy finally says, "Well, I guess I'll return it then." I mean, HELLO! What a moron!

    Fun, Fun, Fun
I hate booking things online, lol. Just spent the last hour trying to figure out how to get tickets for the "Medieval Times" dinner show for the Toronto trip. First, I tried Ticketmaster because I have purchased tickets there previously and have had no trouble. Well, instead of a confirmation code I received a notice that my purchase could not be completed and that I needed to contact customer service. Well, spent about 20 min. there trying to figure out who to contact, because I was purchasing in the USA but the show was in Canada...I'm telling you online customer service is a bitch. Anyway, I ended up sending an email to the Canadian customer service, asking what the problem was. Funny thing though, is that later when I was on the actual "Medieval Times" website I was able to purchase the tickets for $40 cheaper than on ticketmaster, with no problem whatsoever. So, I'm waiting for the reply from Ticketmaster and if it turns out I was actually charged for those tickets I think I'll simply post them for sale. Which, I hope I won't have to do that because I'm already pissed that there was no explanation for my problem and that I probably won't even get a reply. Oh well, problems of working online I suppose. But hey, I'm excited for the show anyway because it's a 3 hour show with a 4 course meal. Hey...I love food what can I say?
